A beginner’s thick yoga mat of standard width and heigh. Excellent for all types of practice as it is made of durable, long lasting material. This yoga mat is the most common and the most widely used type.

Yoga Mat Review

★★★★½
This is a great little beginner’s mat, made from synthetic material. The mat is initially very sticky, but that goes away after a few uses. The vivid purple color is very stimulating and beneficial to your practice. We found the surface to be reasonably stable. Some people find this mat too thin, but it’s actually of standard thickness. If you prefer thicker mats for extra comfort, you may not like this mat too much. Otherwise, this is a pretty generic mat of over than average quality. Recommended for beginners and those who want a light disposable mat.

I love my new mat. It makes my workouts so much easier because it is long enough for my whole body! And it’s MINE!!

Though it seems denser than other mats, it doesn’t offer much cushioning. It’s shiny but not sticky, and without that grip my hands are constantly slipping. A disappointment.

This item has done wonders for my yoga workouts at home. Until I got this pad, I was using a blanket or a towel; this beats them both.

This mat is much more than the money I paid. thick enough and no slip. smell isn’t so terrible as the other people said. I would go a wider one next time.

I’m slightly disappointed with this. My hands tend to get sweaty and slip while in certain yoga positions (down dog, etc.), and I had hoped this mat would alleviate that, but it doesn’t. My hands and bare feet slip on this too. I wear weight lifting gloves now to prevent slipping. I still use the mat as it helps to somewhat cushion my body and my lower back, but would not purchase another like it. It may work better on a bare floor than on carpet. There are 2 of these in a local recreation center where I also workout and they are fine there.

This is a very nice yoga mat. nice color, sticky enough so my feet don’t slip, and works well with my new yoga dvds.

This is a great mat for the price; it’s better than some mats I’ve had that cost *double* what this one does.

though this mat is a little on the skinny side, it fulfills its function. i would buy this again if i need another yoga mat.

DVD arrived the same week packaged and new as promised. This is a great and challenging addition to my Baron collection. I recommend it to masochists in search of 8-pack abs.Baron Baptiste Live!: Core Power

I looked around for a cheap yoga mat and purchased this product. When I first saw the mat it seemed a little bit thin to me but it turned out to be ok. It seems to be impregnated and therefore slippery in the beginning. This goes away after practizing on the mat for a while or washing it. The product is fine for a beginner who doesn’t know if he or she wants to go on with Yoga. It is interessting that the prize varies by the color. At the time I purchased it a yellow one was the most expensive so if one doesn’t mind the color he or she should look at different ones.

I love this mat! It’s really pretty. I have not had any of the slipping issues that some of the other reviewers have had. It is sticky and wonderful! The new “smell” wears off pretty quickly. It was a really good deal and worth a try!

I find this dark plum-colored mat attractive, sticky and a stable source for downward dog poses, upward bow variations, shoulder stands and everything else. It’s long enough for me to keep my entire body on the mat when lying down (I’m 5’4). It’s a good, basic product. The mat didn’t even have a strong “new mat” smell when freshly opened, which was a plus.

My husband uses the mat for more conventional workouts – as a base for crunches and push ups. We’ve even used it for tai chi and qi gong.

At a good price point, this product’s usefulness lies in between a light traveling yoga mat and a thick plush one. I found it too big to fold into my suitcase when I took a flight (actually, it could have been squished down to fit, but took up more room than I had to spare). So I do have to travel without a mat when I fly.

On the other hand, the mat is on the thin side when using over a bare, non-carpeted flooring. I have tried some of my friends’ thicker mats, and those are much more comfortable on the heels of the hands in sideways planks and frequent knee-bearing transitions.

In a way, it might be better to have two mats – one light, thin one for traveling, and one thick, plush one for home use. I have actually ordered a second mat for my husband that I plan to use when he is not, doubling up on the mats for extra cushy comfort.

However, if you are limited in space or budget, or otherwise only need one good fitness/yoga mat, this mat is a solid choice.

Recommended.

This item is not one of the best yoga mats but it does the deed. I mistakenly used sneakers and pressed the mat so hard it actually got rubbed down so I had to flip it. The cushion is not comfortable but is effective for doing quick positions. I would not recommend this if you want a long term yoga mat. Get something sturdier and thicker.

I expected it to be a bit more ticker but so far it works fine for me.

this mat is sufficient for doing yoga. however, your hands slip a lot while trying to hold downward dog… which being one of the main poses… poses a problem. i just grip with my fingers harder on the mat and it works. it’s my own fault for buying the cheapo mat… but otherwise it’s fine. thickness is good for me, i don’t like super thick mats. length is good. but the biggest problem is the slippage. i mean your hands and feet can’t help but get at least a tiny bit slippery from sweat which leaves you sliding. this mat = bad call. go for more expensive, better quality. if you can buy one in person so you can feel it. probably a much wiser decision.

I saw the reviews before buying it. When I got it, I didn’t feel the smell is that strong as the people said (my nose is as good as dogs :P ) Never move when I exercise on it! For the size, I would like to order a wider one. Length is just about good.

This product came quickly and is very nice.. My first yoga mat, I like the color, the ends don’t want to flatten out yet.

This is my first yoga mat and I am very pleased with it so far–it’s durable, has just enough cushioning and it is very non-slip. The mat is a fantastic value for the price!

I’ve only used this mat once but I really love it. It stays in place wonderfully and it’s big enough for me to lay down during some stretches and still keep my head on the mat. It doesn’t slip and it’s wide enough too. I would highly suggest it for yoga or pilates, even for sit-ups and exercise at home. I also love the color!

Don’t waste your money, I have to fold it in half, to feel any comfort.

Wish it was slightly wider, though. Is definitely long enough to lay down on and reach the length of your body.

good quality mat, stays firm on the floor, gives good friction when doing Downward facing dog, sun salutations and other hard positions.

This mat is very functional! It gets the job done! I expected a sticky yoga mat, but ive used it 3 times and the stickiness was gone after the first use. But over all it is great. I use it for pilates so I really have no need for a sticky mat. It is almost like a memory foam. It is perfect for simple workouts, and I also use it for my 8 month old son to play on sometimes! This is great for someone who is not looking for a professional yoga mat that is really sticky!

This mat is good for the price. It’s not as sticky as other mats. But it gets the job done for me.

The thickness of this mat is good for everyday use and is thin enough to take with you. There was very little “plastic” smell, but it isn’t quite as sticky as I would like.

I’ve used this mat for almost 7 months. The smell took at least a month and a half before it went away. It is not just that it is a peculiar smell, it’s very chemical like and distracting. Beyond that, the mat has been serviceable. I learned yoga on this mat. Now that I have went further in my practice, it no longer serves my needs. This mat started off sticky and is now very slippery. I have purchased a Yogitoes mat to be able to remain stable. I am now starting to find pains in my wrists and shoulders that I think are coming from the thinness of my mat. As a previous commenter reported, if you want a long-term mat, look for something else. However, this is a great mat if you just want to try out yoga and are not sure if it’s something you would continue with. My only other comment is that this mat “pocks” very easy, meaning little chunks come out of it constantly.
