Description
This yoga is manufactured from the so-called Clean PVC, which is a new material with PVC-like properties but made from eco-conscious ingredients. As a result, this cheap, versatile and highly durable yoga mat is an excellent choice for any kind of practice, and if durability is an issue, you could always recycle it, since it’s so neutral to the environment. These yoga mats have been certified by an authoritative agency.
A quick note on regular PVC:
Conventional methods of manufacturing PVC involve using toxic chemicals, such as phthalates that have been linked to many health problems. These phthalates can be found in most PVC yoga mats in in abundant quantities (up to 60%).
PVC is also not biodegradable, meaning it would take hundreds of years to decompose, slowly releasing the toxic chemicals into the environment.
Yoga Mat Review

For those who want a more eco-friendly mat, this one is made from PER (Polymer Environmental Resin) or clean PVC, which is claimed to be more sensitive to the environment and your health than yoga mats made of standard PVC foam. This mat does not contain phthalates, dioxins and furans, phenal, or heavy metals and has an ecologically safer method of production. This mat is not very thick – 1/4″, 72″ in length and comes in over 10 different colors. It does have a latex smell when first purchased, but it should wear off after a few weeks of use. You could wash the mat to reduce the smell or have it air out for a significant amount of time. Cheap, eco-friendly and almost disposable. Very nice.
